Quilts of Valor

Cypress Creek Quilters Guild, a few years back, agreed to help contribute our talent of quilting to the Quilts of Valor organization with Quilts of Valor made by members as a donation to this group.

Sweet Darling Quilts, in September of 2014, began sponsoring the local Quilt of Valor Group of which Cypress Creek Quilters have continued to donate quilts made by our members to this group to help in their presentations.

In 2003 Catherine Roberts began Quilts of Valor Foundation from her sewing room in Seaford, Delaware.  Her son Nathanial's yearlong deployment to Iraq provided the initial inspiration and her desire to see that returning troops were welcomed home with love and gratitude.  Catherine hit upon the idea that linking quilt top makers with machine quilters in a national effort could achieve her goal of awarding healing quilts to returning service men and women touched by war.

These awarded quilts, called Quilts of Valor (QOV's), serve as tangible reminders of appreciation and gratitude to service members and are stitched with love, prayers, and healing thoughts.

Quilts of Valor are tokens of appreciation that unequivocally say, "Thank you for your service, sacrifice and valor".
